The airline was a private charter service, based in Winston/Salem, North Carolina, was established in 2003 and started operations on 6 March 2003 . It was founded by late Hooters restaurant owner, Bob Brooks, who acquired Pace Airlines in December 2002. All flights were operated by Pace Airlines. Hooters Air is owned by Hooters of America, Inc. Hooters Air was a low-fare airline operating under the Hooters brand name, with headquarters located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA. On December 8, 2005 Hooters announced that it would end service to Rockford on January 5, 2006 as a result of the airport authority bringing in a competing airline on one of its routes and providing revenue guarantees for the competitor. It then halted all scheduled service on April 17, 2006, but continued private charter operations.
Check-in times: Passenger check-in is available 2 hours prior to scheduled departure. It is recommended to check in at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Passengers presenting themselves at the gate less than 10 minutes prior to departure will be considered a "No Show" and will forfeit their reservation.
Change to passenger name or flight: Reservations can be changed or cancelled (to receive credit towards a future booking) for a change fee of $50 per person
Baggage allowance: 2 bags are allowed per passenger free of charge. Height, length, and width, cannot exceed 60 inches. Total weight limit for both bags is 70 pounds (the maximum weight of one bag cannot exceed 50 pounds). Overweight and/or oversize bags require a $50 fee for each. Excess baggage will be accepted on a space available basis as determined by Hooters Air.
Senior fares: Adults must be traveling on Hooters' Air purchased published fare.
Child fares: Infants under 2 years of age not occupying a seat may be held on the passenger's lap, free of charge. One infant is permitted per paying passenger. Children 2 years and older must pay for an individual seat.
Pet travel: cats and small dogs can be transported for a fee of $75.00 (domestic flights only). Pets must be transported in an approved pet carrier that fits under the passenger seat. The carrier dimensions can be no greater than 17"+15"+10" (L + W + H).
Pre-assigned seating: Advanced seat assignments are available.
Legroom: seat pitch is about 32-34 inches , depending on the aircraft's type
In-flight service: a light in-flight snack appropriate to the time of day will be provided. Complimentary coffee, juices, soft drinks, water will be served on all flights. Alcoholic Beverages are available for sale (Beer - $4 Wine - $4 Liquor - $4). Different entertainments will be offered during the flight.
Air miles: frequent flyer scheme is available for online enrollment. It gives a chance to earn free travel and access to special features , like managing credits from canceled flights, etc.
