Virgin Atlantic Airways , is one of the airlines of Richard Branson's Virgin Group, operating long-haul routes between London and North America , the Caribbean , Africa , the Middle East , Asia and Australia . Its main bases are London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW), with a smaller base at Manchester International Airport (MAN).
Check-in times: check in facilities close 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure times of the flights. If you fail to complete check in procedures by this time you will not be able to travel. You are suggested to check in 2-3 hours prior to your flight to allow for security and check in queues.
Change to passenger name or flight: : changes can be made either online for some extra cost per person plus any difference in price for a new flight, or at the call center for extra cost per person plus any difference in price. For travel to the same destination, the reservation can be changed to standby travel for any flight to the destination leaving on that day for no extra cost. If the original flight was the last out of the airport, standby travel for the first of the next day's flights is allowed and if there is only one flight per day, standby on a flight on the preceding or following day is not allowed.
Baggage allowance: for passengers of Upper and PREMIUM ECONOMY Class 3 pieces of checked luggage per passenger, each weighing up to 32kg (70lbs) are allowed. When added together, the three dimensions of any piece of luggage must not exceed 158cm (62in). For Economy Class Two pieces of checked luggage each weighing up to 23kg (51lbs) are allowed per passenger,. Infants not entitled to a seat are entitled to one piece of checked baggage weighing no more than 10 kg and with dimensions of 9 x 14 x 22 ins. They are also entitled to one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 6kg. This is over and above the buggy or bassinet or car seat, which are carried free of charge. All passengers travelling to and from the UK are not permitted to check in any bag that weighs more than 32kgs (70lbs).
