Continental Airlines , an airline of the United States , was founded in 1934 . Based in Houston , Texas , it is the fourth-largest airline in the U. and the eighth-largest in the world by revenue passenger miles. Continental flies to destinations throughout the US , Europe , and Asia from its three hubs at Hopkins International Airport (in Cleveland , Ohio ), George Bush Intercontinental Airport (in Houston , Texas ), and Newark Liberty International Airport (in Newark , New Jersey near New York City ).
Check-in times: For domestic flights you are to check –in at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. For international flights - at least 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
Change to passenger name or flight: changes can be made either online for some extra cost per person plus any difference in price for a new flight, or at the call center for extra cost per person plus any difference in price. For travel to the same destination, the reservation can be changed to standby travel for any flight to the destination leaving on that day for no extra cost. If the original flight was the last out of the airport, standby travel for the first of the next day's flights is allowed and if there is only one flight per day, standby on a flight on the preceding or following day is not allowed.
Baggage allowance: one bag plus one personal item (like briefcase, purse, day planner, small laptop computer, camera case, compact disk player or similar sized personal entertainment item , personal aid devices or one infant article) is allowed per passenger as carry-on baggage free of charge. The maximum combined linear measurement of the carry-on bag is 51 inches (130 cm). The maximum weight of the carry-on bag is 40 pounds (18 kg). For UK airports one ( item of carry- on is permitted with maximum dimensions of 17.7in/13.7in/6.2in (45cm/35cm/16cm). Two Checked Bags of maximum 50 lbs (23 kg)( 70 lbs if traveling to/from Brazil or the Philippines) and 62 linear inches (157 cm) per piece are allowed free of charge for Economy Class/ 2 Checked Bags of Maximum 70 lbs (32kg) and 62 linear inches per piece for Elite Members of Economy Class/ 3 Checked Bags with Maximum 70 lbs (32 kg) and 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height) per piece for First Class, Business First and International Business Class to all destinations except Brazil and The Philippines. Up to two duffel bags, sea bags or B-4 bags : Maximum 70 lbs (32 kg) and 115 linear inches (292 cm) per bag are allowed for Military Customers on Military Orders. Excess baggage is accepted on limited release. All oversize or overweight baggage, all boxes and any extra pieces are carried on a space available basis, and may not arrive at customer's destination for up to five days.
Senior fares: Adults travel on Continental's purchased published fare.
Child fares: Infants who are carried on an adult's lap do not require a ticket for wholly domestic travel. An infant ticket is required for international travel. International taxes will be collected for all destinations outside of the 50 U.S. states. Infants who are over two years old are required to purchase a ticket and occupy a customer seat with a separate seat belt. Infants in incubation or infants under 7 days old are not accepted as passengers on any flight. Continental will accept one child under two years of age traveling with a parent or an adult 18 years or older , provided the child does not occupy a seat. If there are two or more children under two years of age traveling with the same passenger, only one of the children may travel as a lap child. Any additional children under two years are required to have a ticket, and pay the applicable children's fare.
Pet travel: domesticated cats, dogs, pet rabbits and household birds can be carried in the aircraft cabin for a fee of $95.00 ($190.00 for round trip travel) on all U.S. domestic flights (except to/from Hawaii ). Only one pet per passenger is allowed in cabin. For International in-cabin pet acceptance and service charge information, contact our worldwide reservation office. Pets must be carried in an approved in-cabin kennel. The kennel must fit completely under the seat forward of the customer and remain there at all times aboard the aircraft. Maximum dimensions are: 22" L x 14" W x 9" H (56 cm L x 36 cm W x 23 cm H). Each kennel should contain no more than 1 adult dog or cat, or no more than 2 puppies or kittens younger than 6 months, of comparable size, and under 20 lb (9.1 kg) each. In-cabin Pet Kennels are available for a $55.00 service charge. The dimensions are 17" L x 12.5" W x 8" H (43 cm L x 32 cm W x 20 cm H). Pets cannot be transported in cabin on flights to or from Argentina.
