Check-in times: Check-in begins 3 hours prior to departure at the Spirit Airlines ticket counter. Spirit Airlines reserves the right to cancel the reservation or seat assignment of any passenger who does not have a boarding pass at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled or posted departure (60 minutes for international flights and 45 minutes for Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco). Customers presenting themselves at the boarding gate less than 15 minutes before the departure (30 minutes for international flights) may lose their reservation and become ineligible for denied boarding compensation.
Change to passenger name or flight: : changes can be made either online for some extra cost per person plus any difference in price for a new flight, or at the call center for extra cost per person plus any difference in price. For travel to the same destination, the reservation can be changed to standby travel for any flight to the destination leaving on that day for no extra cost. If the original flight was the last out of the airport, standby travel for the first of the next day's flights is allowed and if there is only one flight per day, standby on a flight on the preceding or following day is not allowed.
Baggage allowance: For each ticketed passenger 2 checked bags with Maximum weight of 50 pounds per bag and max size not exceeding 62inches (per bag) are allowed free of charge. An extra charge applies for additional, overweight and/or oversized pieces. Baggage that weighs more than 99 pounds and/or baggage that measure in single dimension more than 80" or combined dimension exceeding 160." Is not accepted. Passengers may also carry-on one additional piece of baggage totaling no more than 22+13+10, maximum weight 40 pounds, which is capable of being stowed under a passenger seat or in an approved overhead cabin compartment.
Pet travel: dogs, cats and domestic birds are allowed as carry-on or checked baggage for a fee of $50. A maximum of 4 pet containers is permitted in the cabin on all domestic flights including San Juan, Puerto Rico. Dimensions of container must not exceed 18" length + 14" width + 9" height and must fit beneath the seat.
Spirit Airlines does not accept pets for travel in the cabin or in cargo on international flights.
