Hawaiian Airlines was founded in 1929 (as Inter-Island Airways). It is the 11th largest commercial airline in the United States , the largest airline based in the State of Hawaii . Hawaiian Airlines' hub is located at Honolulu International Airport in Honolulu , Hawaii and operates a secondary hub out of Kahului Airport . Hawaiian has code sharing agreements with Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Harmony Airways, Northwest Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Check-in times: Recommended check-in time for flights is 2 hours before departure for interisland flights (but not earlier than station operating hours) and 3 hours before departure for transpacific and international flights. All advance seat requests and reservations are subject to cancellation if you have not checked in and received a boarding pass at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure (one hour for international flights). All reservations can be cancelled and reassigned if you are not at the boarding gate for boarding at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure for domestic flights (30 minutes for international), and you may not be eligible for denied boarding compensation.

Baggage allowance : Each ticketed passenger is currently limited to one piece of carry-on baggage and one personal item. Car seats, bassinets, infant carrying seats, or strollers are all accepted as check-in baggage as part of the free baggage allowance for the accompanying ticketed adult passenger. (There is no separate baggage allowance for infants held in a passenger's lap.) When in excess of the 2 piece baggage allowance, the passenger will be charged for the excess piece (car seat, bassinet, infant carrying seat, or stroller). Ñ arry on baggage should be no more than 45 linear inches, or 9"x14"x22" (L+W+H), and weight no more than 25 pounds. Two pieces of checked baggage are permitted for each passenger free of charge. The first and second pieces each may not be more than 62 linear inches and weigh no more than 50 pounds.
There is a charge for the those pieces which are considered “excess” baggage.
For travel within the State of Hawaii:- $25.00 for all excess pieces.
For travel between the Continental U.S. and Hawaii or within the Continental U.S.:
- $80.00 for 1st to 3rd excess pieces for each excess piece.
- $105.00 for 4th to 6th excess pieces for each excess piece.
- $180.00 for 7th or any additional for each excess piece.
