TACA is an airline in Central America based in El Salvador . Originally the name stood for Transportes Aéreos Centroamericanos ( Central American Air Transport ).Also Taca is a Holding Name that holds five airlines that forms Grupo Taca. Due to its expansion to South America , which meant flying within the three Americas its new slogan name is Transportes Aéreos del Continente Americano ( American Continent Air Transport ). Today, TACA has scheduled flights to most major airports in the Western Hemisphere . Its three flight hubs or "Centros de Conexiones" are: El Salvador International Airport in San Salvador , El Salvador , Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima , Peru and Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José , Costa Rica .
Check-in times: For domestic flights you are to check –in at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. For international flights - at least 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
Change to passenger name or flight: : changes can be made either online for some extra cost per person plus any difference in price for a new flight, or at the call center for extra cost per person plus any difference in price. For travel to the same destination, the reservation can be changed to standby travel for any flight to the destination leaving on that day for no extra cost. If the original flight was the last out of the airport, standby travel for the first of the next day's flights is allowed and if there is only one flight per day, standby on a flight on the preceding or following day is not allowed.
Baggage allowance: On all routes and classes of service you are entitled to one piece of carry-on baggage plus one personal item (laptop computer, camera, umbrella,etc). Maximum weight is 22 lbs./10 kg. Maximum size- 45 linear inches/114 cm. (length + height + width). 2 pieces of checked baggage with maximum weight of 50 lbs./22.5 kg. each and Maximum size of 62 linear inches/157 cm. (length + height + width) each are allowed for passengers of Economy Class. And 3 pieces with maximum weight of 50 lbs./22.5 kg. each and Maximum size ( each piece) 62 linear inches/157 cm. (length + height + width) for Clase Ejecutiva. Pieces weighing more than 100 lbs./45.4 kg. and/or measuring more than 85 linear inches/216 cm. are not considered baggage and must be shipped under an airway bill from o TACA CARGo offices.

Child fares: Children under two years of age may travel on an infant fare ticket, equivalent to 10% of adult fare. Due to the reduced fare, infant tickets do not include a seat assignment, baggage allowance, or meal service. Infants who require a seat assignment may travel on a child's fare ticket, equivalent to 75% of adult fare (restrictions apply). If an adult is traveling with two infants, one of them must travel on a child's fare ticket, including a reserved seat assignment, baggage allowance, and meal service; the other may travel on an infant fare ticket.
Pet travel: Up to 2 animals per flight including both pets and seeing-eye dogs may travel in the cabin for a fee of $100 US plus taxes unless the pet is carried in lieu of any other carry-on baggage, in which case there is no charge ; only cats and dogs are accepted on international flights. Maximum weight including both container and pet is 17.3 lbs. (8 kg). Maximum measurements are: 17” long x 12” wide x 7” high (43 x 30.4x 7 cm).

Legroom: seat pitch is about 32-34 inches, depending on the aircraft's type
In-flight service: Meals, snacks and drinks are served. Alcohol is available for sale. Different entertainments , such as in-seat movies, radio, TV, etc are offered during the flight.
Air miles: frequent flyer program, Distancia, is available for online enrollment. It gives a chance to earn free travel and access to special features , like managing credits from canceled flights,etc
